Exercise is a regular way to cleanse the skin by flushing out the toxins and harmful bacteria through sweating. It is important to bathe or shower afterwards remove the expelled dirt and germs and rather than allowing them to linger and clog the pores. The skin is a living organ that has the largest amount of area in contact with the outside elements. In addition to the outside elements, it is also important to note that the constant regeneration process of the skin means that it will be shedding dead skin cells on a consistent basis. Sebum oil is the main food source for acne-causing bacteria. Sebum oil is also the substance that makes the skin feel greasy and dirty. Things like mayonnaise and milk, as well as brown sugar, are food items that are metabolized by the body to create sebum oil.

Pore lesions are most commonly recognized by the redness and irritation that is perceived as acne. The pus-filled whiteheads that plague many are the result of clogged pores that have become infected, and the inflammation causes the pores to close up. Pimples are thus the infected pores that are filled with dirt, oil, and germs. They present the temptation to squeeze all of the pus out of them, but this will cause more long-term damage than it does a positive experience. It can be very satisfying to pop a pimple, but it will often leave scars.

The same way that milk and mayonnaise are food items that are likely to make a person more prone to acne, there are basic food items that will help remove it as well. Honey is a prime example of a natural acne remedy. However, it is not best used when it is consumed. Honey is a natural antiseptic that, at the same time, help maintain healthy moisture levels. When it is applied to the affected areas of the skin, it helps kill harmful bacteria without dehydrating the skin. This provided the skin with optimum levels for healthy cell regeneration.

Scar removal can help a person's self image by giving them their looks back. It can be done several different ways, including lasers or creams, but there are natural and holistic remedies that, often times, work much better. The key to scar removal is making sure that the scar tissue is replaced by healthy skin cells. Over a short period of time, the skin discoloration fades as rejuvenated epidermal cells develop. The healthy cell development is stimulated with certain herbal remedies that can easily be applied at home.

Since acne and scars go hand in hand in many situations, finding a good remedy for either one will usually lead to better overall skin health and the curing of both. There are certain vitamins and herbal supplements that are proven to promote healthy skin cell rejuvenation. Lemon juice and honey work well because of the antiseptic properties they have while maintaining the skin's natural moisture levels. Using harsh chemicals that lead to dehydrating the epidermis will lead to permanent skin damage.
